Welcome to Rabbit Ranch

I am over 18 years of age.

A tale as old as time

IN RABBIT YEARS

At the turn of the century, Mr McGregor tried everything to clear the land of rabbits, but they refused to leave. Eventually, he changed course and planted vines, marking the beginning of wine in this rugged Central Otago landscape.

After falling into decline following the Second World War, the vineyard was revived by Warren and Betty McGregor, who replanted the land and restored its winemaking legacy.

Today, rabbits still roam freely, Pinot Noir still thrives in the high-altitude vineyard, and the stories continue to grow with every vintage. Some even say the rabbits are the size of ponies… but that might just be another Rabbit Ranch tale.

Cool Climate Wines

WITH A WILD SIDE

Best known for our Pinot Noir, the range also showcases Central Otago favourites including bright, aromatic Pinot Gris, lively Rosé, and other varieties that thrive in this unique landscape. The wines reflect the region’s climate, pure fruit expression, and unmistakable sense of style.

Rabbit Ranch has never taken itself too seriously. The rabbits still roam, the stories grow taller with every vintage, and the wines remain approachable, generous, and dangerously easy to enjoy.
